Complimenting return and enabling early livelihood recovery of returnee’s communities
in the Northern Province in Sri Lanka
Project Summery :
Initiative entails immediate high impact livelihood interventions; Sarvodaya, Consortium of Humanitarian Agencies (CHA) and The Sewalanka Foundation will reduce the poverty of vulnerable communities through which economic security of identified groups of returnee IDP’s is enhanced and livelihoods re-established, empowering the exercise of economic choices. Agricultural and economic recovery will be supported through capacity building, providing immediate support for food security as well as initiating economic markets through home gardens and replacing livestock, and providing cash for work, laying the foundation for livelihoods in the return regions. This project complimented the Government of Sri Lanka’s efforts for restoration of the Northern Province.
